PLEASE NOTE. While the entrance to Kingfisher and Spring Lakes via a road from Romsey Road is passable it is in poor condition. This road is maintained by the owner of Headland Farm. All users of this entrance should still pay at the Fishery Office beside Keepers Lake  which can be accessed via Whinwhistle Road (or by short walk from the top entrance)- see directions below:-

From London: Take the M3 to Southampton (map). At junction 14 join the M27 and continue along the motorway until exiting at junction 2. Follow the signs for the A36 to Salisbury.  Turn right at the speed cameras on the A36 into Whinwhistle Road and 2 miles further along you will find the entrance to Woodington and Whinwhistle Fisheries on the left.

From Salisbury: Travel down the A36 from Salisbury (map); turn left at the roundabout in West Wellow into Lower Common Road. Turn right at the War Memorial into Romsey Road and follow this road until it meets Whinwhistle Road. Turn left in Whinwhistle Road and the entrance to the fishery is a few hundred yards on the left.

Looking for somewhere to stay near the fishery? We can recommend a Well House friendly, family-run B&B in the village of Wellow, on the edge of the New Forest. It offers double, twin and single facilities with ensuite or private bathrooms, television and tea/coffee facilities. Have a look at their web site for more details: www.wellhousebandb.co.uk
